Why should we be saved?
The Wrath of God
God loves humankind and hates sin. The fact which must be established here is that sin is not spared from judgment. Apostle Paul in (Romans 6:23) sheds light on this by stating that: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The only way we can escape the wrath of God is by seeking to be saved. (Romans 8:1) “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Humankind can only be made free from sin through Christ Jesus. He has the power to forgive sin and makes free from it… bringing about a state of righteousness. (Luke 5:24) “…that ye may know that the Son man hath power upon earth to forgive sin” Jesus speaks these words again in (John 5:24) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” There is a ‘supernatural ‘meaning beyond natural experience that takes place when one gets saved. Your height and color of skin might remain the same but the state of your heart is changed for His glory. The writer of the book of (Hebrews 9:26-28) makes this observation, “…but once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” When Jesus died on the cross at Golgotha/Calvary as a result of crucifixion, a judgment given to criminals under the Roman Empire era… yet fulfilling the prophetic declaration: was for our justification and salvation from the impending danger of death and hell.
