Why should we be saved? i.) A savior in our case Jesus Christ the son of the living God, who gave himself as a ransom for us by dying on the cross of Golgotha/Calvary, (John 3:16) ”For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” ii.) Someone who desires to be saved – must first be in an immediate danger that threatens his/her life… In this context the danger is sin and its consequences of eternal death and hell. (Romans3:23) “for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord,” and iii.) There must be repentance from sin and willingness to be saved. (Romans 10:12-13) “For there is no difference between the Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Many people throughout generations past, now and to come have/are/will struggle to come into grips with this question here posed: “Why should we be saved?” This question supposedly posses that: a) Humankind in most cases has insufficient knowledge of why they should be saved. This might lead us yet to another school of thought, that maybe the impending danger is not yet envisaged, to desire to be saved, or they are in danger, yet they do not have sufficient knowledge of who should then save them? and
Please pray this payer : God I thank you for your eternal plan for my life. I believe in Jesus Christ the son of God and the fulfillment of the plan of salvation Through His death on the cross, for the forgiveness of my sin. Jesus I receive you as my personal Lord and savior. Amen!
